The Conway Education Center will replace Catholic Charities’ existing building and will serve children and young adults with developmental differences. The facility will be ADA-compliant, provide a safe and secure environment, and promote the overall well-being of young people. The building will also include a variety of unique features. Instead of an elevator, a ramp will connect the building’s two floors, serving as a social space for interaction and allowing students of all abilities to easily circulate through the building. The dining space will include a kitchen since the school teaches life skills in addition to the traditional curriculum. The building will feature a U shape, with a central courtyard providing a safe place for play and educational activities. The center will also have an outdoor classroom with amphitheater seating, an outdoor play area, a garden, a dining terrace, and a physical education space.
